India in-hand salary calculator, FY 2026-27

Monthly in-hand pay from your CTC or gross salary: employee EPF and income tax under the new and the old regime, from the Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance and EPFO figures for FY 2026-27.

Old regime: deductions you can claim

Only used for the old regime. Your own EPF is counted under 80C automatically. The new regime allows none of these.

Salary income only, a resident under 60. Employers deduct income tax from the monthly pay, so the monthly in-hand figure below already has the yearly tax spread over 12 months. Professional tax, which depends on the state, is not deducted.

How this is calculated

From CTC to in-hand pay

CTC (cost to company) is taken as the fixed yearly pay including the employer's EPF share. Basic pay is a share of it (50% unless you change it) and the employee EPF is 12% of basic. The employer pays the same amount, which is inside the CTC, so the gross salary is the CTC less the employer EPF. Choose gross salary if your figure has no employer EPF in it. In-hand pay is gross salary less your EPF and less the income tax, divided by 12. See the new vs old regime guide.

EPF

Employees and employers each pay 12% of wages (basic wages, dearness allowance and retaining allowance) to the EPF. The mandatory wage ceiling was raised from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month from 17 September 2026. Many payslips take 12% of the whole basic and some stop at the ceiling, so the calculator lets you pick either.

Income tax

Standard deduction ₹75,000. Rebate up to ₹60,000 when taxable income is not above ₹12,00,000, with marginal relief just above. Old regime: 0% from ₹0, 5% from ₹2,50,000, 20% from ₹5,00,000, 30% above ₹10,00,000, standard deduction ₹50,000, rebate up to ₹12,500 up to ₹5,00,000 of taxable income, then deductions as entered.
