Go Home Early Nigeria is a small set of free calculators for employees: monthly net pay after pension and PAYE under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, with rent relief, NHF and NHIS. It is an independent project. It is not run by, endorsed by or connected with the Nigeria Revenue Service (formerly the Federal Inland Revenue Service), the Joint Revenue Board, the National Pension Commission, the Federal Mortgage Bank, the National Health Insurance Authority or any other government body.

Why this exists

The operator has handled pay, tax and payroll calculations for a small team firsthand. The calculators available gave different numbers for the same inputs and did not say where the numbers came from, so the figures had to be worked out again from the published rules. This site publishes that working, with the source and the check date next to each number.

Rates come from the source, and the page says when they do not

The tax bands, rent relief and deductions come from the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 and the pension, housing and health insurance rules. The official gazette and agency pages could not be opened when these pages were built, so the values were read on law-firm and accounting-firm articles and payroll guides that agree with one another. The Sources and rates page lists each value, where it came from, the date it was last checked, and plainly says that none of it is confirmed on an official page.

Checked against the rules

The calculations are tested against hand calculations and an independent second implementation that agrees to the kobo on every test case. The site is not released with a failing test.

Updates

Tax law and contribution rules can change by Act, regulation or circular. When they do, the values and the checked dates are updated together. If you find an error, tell us.
