Disclaimer
General information only
The calculators and guides on this site give general information. They do not take your personal circumstances into account and they do not suggest any course of action or any financial product. Results are estimates. Your payslip, your tax code, your Personal Tax Account and the figures HMRC or your employer give you take priority.
What the calculator leaves out
- Salary sacrifice, benefits in kind, tax code changes, Marriage Allowance, savings and dividend income, Gift Aid, the High Income Child Benefit Charge and bonuses taxed separately.
- National Insurance categories other than A, directors, employer contributions and the Employment Allowance.
- Student loan interest, and the way payroll rounds each pay period. Student loan repayments here are worked out for the year in one step.
- More than one job or any other income.
Accuracy and changes
Rates are taken from GOV.UK pages and legislation and are dated on the Sources and rates page, together with the values that could not be confirmed. Rates change, and there can be a delay before the site reflects a change. Rates as at 2 November 2026.
Limit of responsibility
To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss that results from using the site. Nothing here limits any right you have under UK consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Where to check
For a decision that matters, check HMRC (gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs), your employer's payroll team, or a qualified accountant or tax adviser.
