How this is calculated
The rule
Article 29(1) of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 gives annual leave with full wage of not less than 30 days for each year of service, 2 days for each month if the service is more than 6 months and less than a year, and leave for the part of the last year worked if the service ends before the leave balance is used. Unpaid leave the employer approved does not count in the service term (Article 33(2)).
Convention used
From a complete year the leave earned is 30 days times the days of service divided by 365, so a part year counts in proportion. In the first year, months are 365/12 days long and nothing is earned until service passes 6 months. The Decree-Law gives no counting method, so this is the site's reading. The balance is paid at the basic wage divided by 30 a day.
Not included
Leave carried forward by agreement, a contract that pays leave on the whole salary, part-time workers, and anything the Executive Regulation adds that could not be read. See Sources and rates.
