Disclaimer
General information only
The calculators and guides on this site give general information. They do not take your personal circumstances into account and they do not suggest any course of action or any financial product. Results are estimates. Your pay stub, your Form W-4, your tax return and the figures the IRS, your state tax agency or your employer give you take priority.
What the calculator leaves out
- Federal credits such as the child tax credit and earned income credit, itemized deductions, and the 2025 to 2028 deductions for tips, overtime and seniors.
- Pre-tax payroll deductions such as 401(k) contributions and health insurance premiums, and your Form W-4 choices.
- City, county and school district income taxes, and state payroll contributions other than the ones listed for each state on the Sources page.
- Second jobs, self-employment, investment income and any other income.
- The IRS Tax Table, which can differ from the rate schedule by a few dollars for incomes under $100,000. The calculator uses the rate schedule.
Accuracy and changes
Rates are taken from IRS publications and state tax agency pages and are dated on the Sources and rates page, together with the values that could not be confirmed. Rates change, and there can be a delay before the site reflects a change. Rates as at November 2, 2026.
Limit of responsibility
To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss that results from using the site.
