How this is calculated

The rule

Article 109 of the Labor Law gives a prepaid annual leave of not less than 21 days, increased to not less than 30 days if the worker spends 5 consecutive years in the service of the employer. The leave must be taken in the year it is due and cannot be exchanged for cash during service. Article 111 gives a wage for the accrued days when a worker leaves without having used the leave, and a leave pay for the part of the year worked in proportion.

Convention used

The leave earned is 21 days a year for the first 5 years and 30 days a year after, a part year in proportion to the days of that year. The balance is paid at the wage divided by 30 a day, the divisor of the Ministry's worked overtime example. The Law gives no divisor and no counting method, so this is the site's reading.

Not included

Leave postponed by agreement (Article 110), a contract that gives more than the Law, public holidays that fall in the leave, and anything the 2025 amendments change that could not be read. See Sources and rates.
