How this is calculated
The rule
Article 107(1) of the Labor Law: the employer pays for overtime hours an additional amount equal to the hourly wage plus 50% of the basic wage. Under Article 107(3) all working hours performed during holidays and Eids are overtime hours. Article 2 says the basic wage is what the contract gives for the work plus periodic increments, and the wage is the actual wage, which adds the other due increments.
Convention used
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development awareness guide of December 2025 works an example: the hourly wage is the monthly wage divided by 30 and by 8, and half of the basic hourly wage is added. This calculator follows that example, so one overtime hour pays (wage + 50% of basic wage) ÷ 240. Each line is rounded to the halala.
Not included
Compensatory leave in place of cash, which the 2025 amendments allow when the worker agrees, workers outside the working-hours rules (Article 108), and the annual limit on overtime hours set by the Minister. See Sources and rates.
